Music For Relief

I chose to support the fundraising cause of Music For Relief.  The organization was established after the Tsunami in Thailand in 2005.  The band members of Linkin Park decided they could reach out to other peers and their fans to help.  The response was overwhelming thus the charity was born.

2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Hannah, Ike & Gustav,Cyclones Nargis in Burma, Sidr, and Aila in Bangladesh, Wildfires in Southern California & Victoria Australia, Typhoons Ketsana, Parma, Morakot and Lupit in Southeast Asia, Zimbabwe Cholera Outbreak, Tornado in Mena, Arkansas, China’s Wenchuan Earthquake, 2009 Earthquakes in the Pacific Islands and Indonesia, 2010 Haiti Earthquake, Monsoon Flooding in Pakistan, 2011 Japan Earthquake & tsunami, Famine in Somalia.

In addition there is education programs on how to lesson the carbon footprint we have, which many believe changes the weather and our environment.  Also over 1 Million trees have been planted since 2005.

In December of 2010 they reported 13.5% of funds donated went to administrative activities which totaled 105k while 675.5k went to charitable activities.
